Omaha Hi/Low: General Summary

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most difficult but favored poker variations. It’s a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, aims for play from all levels of players. This is the main reason why a once irrelevant game, has grown in popularity so rapidly.
Omaha hi low starts like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to each player. A round of betting ensues where players can bet, check, or fold. Three cards are handed out, this is called the flop. One more round of betting happens. After all the gamblers have in turn called or dropped out, an additional card is revealed on the turn. an additional sequence of wagering happens and then the river card is revealed. The entrants will have to put together the best high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is the point where a few entrants get flustered. Contrasted to Hold’em, where the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha hi/low the player must utilize exactly 3 cards on the board, and precisely 2 cards from their hand. The lower hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an eight and smaller. The low hand wins half of the pot, as just like the high hand. When there is no low hand available, the high hand takes the complete pot.
