Omaha Hi Lo: General Outline

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently viewed as one of the most complicated but popular poker variations. It is a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for play from every level of players. This is the chief reason why a once invisible variation, has expanded in popularity so amazingly.
Omaha 8 or better starts just like a regular game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to every player. A round of betting follows in which gamblers can wager, check, or drop out. 3 cards are handed out, this is referred to as the flop. One more round of betting happens. Once all the players have either called or folded, an additional card is revealed on the turn. a further round of betting happens and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers will have to put together the best high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is where many players often get confused. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, where the board can be every player’s hand, in Omaha hi/lo the player must use exactly three cards on the board, and precisely two cards from their hand. No more, not a single card less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot could be won: the "high hand" or the "low hand."
A high hand is just what it sounds like. It is the strongest possible hand out of every player’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It is the same notion in nearly all poker games.
A lower hand is more difficult, but certainly free’s up the action. When figuring out a low hand, straights and flushes don’t count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that might be made, with the lowest being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Seeing as straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the smallest value hand possible. The lower hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an eight and lower. The lower hand takes half of the pot, as just like the higher hand. When there is no lower hand available, the high hand wins the whole pot.
It may seem complicated at first, following a few rounds you will be able to pick up on the basic subtleties of play easily enough. Since you have players betting for the low and betting for the high, and seeing as so many cards are in play, Omaha hi-low offers an exciting assortment of betting choices and seeing that you have numerous individuals shooting for the high, along with many shooting for the low hand.
